Daily Mugshot

October 30th, 2008

Well I have never officially had a mugshot taken. But I have now signed up to have a mugshot taken everyday for the next… The service is DailyMugshot.com and it is a free service. They have some neat reminders and systems to keep you on track. Overall I am impressed with the service and if you are looking to brand yourself get out there and start mugshoting. They have a nifty embed code that updates your mugshot on your blog everyday. On my blog home page, Brooke Barnett, you will see my daily mugshot and can choose to scroll backwards once I have posted more than one. I hope to have some really neat backgrounds with all of my travels.

Enjoy,

Brooke

Tim Houk Real Estate, Baton Rouge

October 28th, 2008

As many of you know I recently move across the country from San Diego, Ca to Baton Rouge, LA. I have had the privilege of meeting some great people throughout the city of Baton Rouge. One being Tim Houk, Real Estate Agent for Keller Williams, Red Stick Partners Realty. For those of you who do not know Baton Rouge is french for Red Stick.

I have recently talked Tim into doing a test blog for an upcomming blogging platform I will be speaking and training on. Feel free to drop by and give Tim a hello at his blog Baton Rouge Real Estate. If you are involved with my internet training classes I caution you we are walking some not so perfect lines testing his blog. I do not recomend you try to duplicate it untill testing is done.

UFirst To Breakout or not to Breakout?

October 26th, 2008

The last two United First Financial Super Regionals in Las Vegas and Orlando were incredible events. For the first time UFirst has implemented break out rooms. I, Brooke Barnett, was able to do 2 1.5 hour long course at each event on internet marketing. Other speakers were David Montgomery, George Veronis, Ken Melby, Juan Hernandez, Bill Walton, Tom Keener, Steve Smith, Jason Brown, Gregg Stroud, JoLynn Saizan, and Todd Skousen.

My question to all of you that attended is do you like the breakout rooms better or would you like to see UFirst go back to a single room format? Leave your opinion below in a comment.

#4 on Google for United First Financial

October 22nd, 2008

At the time of this post my United First Financial website is listed #4 in google for the search term United First Financial. This was accomplished with nothing but hard work and it has paid off 10 fold. Learning marketing and especially internet marketing has lead me to be able to live the lifestyle I live and run my business the way I do. If there are two things I wish I would have been taugh when I was young they are this… 1. Sales rule the world. If you are not selling you are supporting a product someone sold. 2. Marking rules sales. If you have enough people interested in your product you will always be successful.

I hope to see many more of the internet marketing students at the top of google soon.

Gustav chased me out… After the Storm

September 10th, 2008

Hurricane Gustav proved to be more to Baton Rouge than any other before on record. While the true impact was not felt until long after Gustav left. I now reside in the East Baton Rouge Parish. For those of you not from Louisiana that is similar to a county or township. We experienced a 100% blackout for the parish. There are parts in the parish and elsewhere in the state that are estimated to have power out for 2-3 more weeks. Upon hearing the news I packed a bag and headed north. After an 18 hour drive I will be staying in Newmanstown, PA for the next few weeks while everything gets back to normal. I will also be staying in the area for my mom’s 50th birthday party. Everything seems to work out just right.

Gas is at a premium

September 3rd, 2008

Due to power outages throughout southern Louisiana gas is near impossible to get. Several gas stations have opened up on generator power. Here is a picture of the line we are currently sitting in. Cellular is our only connection to the Internet and it is intermittent. Thank goodness for the iPhone wordpress app.
