Even if your iPhone is out of warrantly and you drop it in liquid(water, beer, wine…) you can take it to an Apple store and have it exchanged for a refurbished iPhone for only $199 plus tax. I had the 16gb white and they replaced it with the exact same phone. The cost is the same wether you have the 8gb or the 16gb. They will remove your old sim card and put it in the new phone. If you do not have a sim card you will have to go to the AT&T store and purchase a new sim card for $25 plus tax. Due to security reasons deactivated sim cards cannot be reactivated. So even though I had 20 of those laying around you still need to purchase a new one.
